Civil Aviation
Aviation is an important sector of the Transport Industry. The aviation sector in India can be divided into two i.e. commercial and military. Commercial aviation includes passenger airlines and cargo planes, international air services, air taxi and charter operations. In the commercial sector plenty of jobs are available and they are of varied nature. Till lately most of these jobs were available with the public sector, since the entire aviation industry was under the control of the government. However with the opening up of the skies, private sector has recently witnessed a major spurt in employment opportunities.
In government employment opportunities exist with public sector airlines i.e. Indian Airlines and Air India, though government has already taken a decision to reduce its stake in these airlines and sooner than later these are going to be privatised, and organisations related with management and development of aviation industry viz. Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). These organisations have openings in various fields e.g. AAI recruits Civil and Structural Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Architects, Automobile and E&M Engineers, Safety Service Managers Electronic Engineers, Finance & Accounts Managers, HRD Managers, Air Traffic Controllers and Cartographers. However under Aviation Industry we would be discussing only the positions unique to this industry like Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots Airhostesses and so on.
