Job Description:
Their job encompasses designing of various accessories like shoes, belts, handbags, scarves, jewellery, watches and so on. Designing accessories involve working with materials other than fabric, and designers must be aware of their properties to know how best they are handled. This field therefore requires specialized training in the chosen material and technology.
The Indian gems and jewellery industry deserves a special mention here. The Indian designers have created a niche market and the exports by this sector constitute quite a big chunk of the total exports of the country.
