General Manager
Job Description:
He is the ‘boss’ of the hotel and is responsible for overall supervision, coordination and administration. He provides overall direction to the work of all departments and his is the ultimate responsibility for quality control and customer service in the hotel. His duties also involve interaction with guests and building up business contacts for the hotel.
Educational Qualification:
General Managers need not necessarily have Diploma in Hotel Management; they may have a financial background or even a simple management background. As said earlier this is a top management position and more than the qualifications the suitability and experience of a candidate would matter.
Opening:
Since this is a top management post openings would depend more on urge to change jobs and standing in the industry.
