Job Description:
Leather Technologists may be involved in production, research and quality control and marketing. They may function as production managers and supervise the production and ensure smooth functioning of the manufacturing process. In research and quality control they test and analyses the finished product to ensure that the leather produced has all the required qualities. In marketing, leather technologists use their skills to market the various qualities of leather advising on the suitability of products to be manufactured.
Leather technologists may also do designing. They design and create patterns keeping in mind the market trends and demands. The latest trend in this area is Computer Aided Designing (CAD).
Opening:
Employment opportunities are available with the manufacturers of leather garments, shoes and sports goods. There is plenty of scope for entrepreneurship and self–employment.
Educational Qualification:
B. Tech./M. Tech. Degree in Leather Technology.
