Job Description:
Models are required to advertise or promote a product, service or style through print media, electronic media, fashion shows or promotional campaigns. Modeling for the print media, requires posing for still photographs used in the press advertisements, folders, portfolios and brochures of fashion and export houses and clothing manufactures, photo spreads in fashion magazines etc. Modeling for the electronic media includes commercials for television, video and films and requires working before a movie camera. Ramp Modeling, which has gained in popularity lately, is also tough. It also requires long hours of preparation and then working under intense pressure. A sense of timing is very important for Ramp Models. Performing in a live show before an audience can be very stressful. It requires lots of self-confidence and stamina. Inhibitions and fatigue have just no place.
Educational Qualification:
As such no formal education or training is required for entry into this profession. Age is also not a criterion. To be endowed with a good physique and height is an asset in this profession. However being photogenic and expressive is more important than being merely beautiful and therefore one has to have a lot of confidence and poise along with a sense of dressing up to be successful in this profession.
